This award-winning 8-piece band was named Alabama’s Best Blues
Band of 2008, and represented the state at the annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis in February 2009.
The lynchpin of the group is Ross Roberts, lead guitarist and producer. Roberts headed up three of Alabama’s most prominent rockin’ bands, Black Mountain in the early ’70s, Cozy in the mid ’70s and ’80s, and Dick’s Hat Band from ‘91 to 2003. These bands toured constantly throughout the South and Midwest. The Alabama Blues Machine now blends Ross with singer/harpist Bruce Andrews, twice a semi-finalist in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They added Lewis Ross, original drummer for Wet Willie, and a blazing horn section made up of Mike Lingo on trombone, Rick White on trumpet, and Jon Remley on saxophone. Rounding out the group are Eric Onimus on bass and Clay Swofford on keyboards for a rich, full, driving blend of blues and soul.
