Alice In Thunderland began in early 2007 as a chance meeting between two teenagers who share a passion for rock music. From that first encounter between Phillip and Andrew, an idea for a band was born. Phillip’s brother Austin joined in on the bass, and then later their cousin Jaclyn to complete the band. The band rehearsed for a few months awaiting their debut show at “The Barn†in late July, opening for the local southern rock band Blue Moon. Since then, they have played numerous shows; such as winning a talent contest at The Bama Theatre, and helping Birmingham Southern College by playing at “Southern-Shuffle” and “Earth Day. Others include playing the Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson “Customer Appreciation Showâ€, headlining at “The Impact Café”, and numerous parties. Recently, they competed for a slot for City Stages at “Workplay Theatre”. This summer, they will be performing at Birmingham’s 21st Annual City Stages Festival. There are a couple of things that make Alice In Thunderland unique. First and foremost, is the unbelievable talent shown by a group of artists aged in their early to mid teens. Secondly is a passion for a music genre that is largely unappreciated by the current pop culture. These two factors make Alice In Thunderland a highly desirable act.
