Disability Access

City Stages welcomes patrons without regard to any disability. Among the services available to persons with disabilities are:

  • All gateways are wheelchair accessible.  Accessible ticket booths are located at the gateway located on Park Place just west of Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard.
  • The festival Information Booth, located at the southern entrance to Linn Park, will offer TDD phone service and lost and found items.
  • Many performances will be interpreted for the deaf.  Specific acts to be interpreted will be listed on the Festival Guide distributed at each gate.
  • Designated viewing areas for persons using wheelchairs are provided on the left side of each stage. Please arrive early to access these areas and notify a security guard for assistance.
  • Wheelchair accessible portolets should be located at the far left side of each bank of portolets. 
  • Beginning Friday afternoon, accessible parking spaces will be reserved in the Birmingham Public Library parking lot located on Richard Arrington Boulevard.  Parking is free of charge, with priority given to vans with wheelchair lifts unable to use parking decks because of height clearances.
  • Birmingham Parking Authority Decks with limited accessible parking will be available.  Decks and height clearances are:

Deck #2 (801 19th Street North, height clearance 6’6”)

Deck #3 (401 20th Street North, clearance 7’5”)

Deck #4 (2128 2nd Avenue North, clearance 7’5”)

Deck #6 (2010 2nd Avenue North, clearance 7’2”)

Deck #7 (509 17th Street North, clearance 7’3”)

  • Birmingham Fire & Rescue First Aid facilities will be located throughout the site with specific locations listed on the festival guide distributed at festival gateways.
