Flat Cat, an Atlanta-based band who call their sound “garage power pop”, began as a side project of Alabama native Chuck Brittain (vocals, guitar) and Atlanta native Michael Thomas Roe (drums). With a sound that was influenced by the late 70′and early 80’s sound of bands like Cheap Trick and The Replacements, the band finally found its perfect configuration with Birmingham native Lance Starr (bass) to add vocal harmonies and then spunky little punk rock Connecticut native Amy Rollinson (guitar) to give the sound an edge. The band released “Buy our 8 Track!” on Bass Finger Records in April 2008 which included 10 new originals and 2 bonus tracks. Flat Cat’s live shows will keep you coming back for more with their tendency to replace seriousness with huge amount of fun and humor and just a dash of camp. The band is currently writing material for their next CD.
