What are the dates for the 20th Annual City Stages in 2008?

City Stages will take place on Father's Day Weeked, June 13, 14 & 15, 2008.

Where is The Information Booth?

The first question you need to know the answer to, is how to find out the answers to all your other questions. The answer, of course, is the City Stages Information Booth, located on the southern edge of Linn Park. Lost and Found items (except found children, see below) are also kept here until the festival gates close on Sunday night. After the festival ends, call 205-251-1272 to enquire about lost and found items.

Where should I park? What if I have a high-profile vehicle?

Birmingham Parking Authority Decks with limited accessible parking will be available. Decks and height clearances are:

  • Deck #2 (801 19th Street North, height clearance 6'6?)
  • Deck #3 (401 20th Street North, clearance 7'5?)
  • Deck #4 (2128 2nd Avenue North, clearance 7'5?)
  • Deck #6 (2010 2nd Avenue North, clearance 7'2?)
  • Deck #7 (509 17th Street North, clearance 7'3?)

If a parent loses a child, where should he go?

The Found Children's area is located at the Information Booth, and is a good place for your family to plan to meet up if anyone becomes separated. After headliners take the stage, found children are taken to the Birmingham Police Department Command Post.

Where may I claim a Lost and Found Item?

Lost and Found items (except found children, see above) are kept at The Information Booth until the festival gates close on Sunday night. After the festival ends, call 205-251-1272 to enquire about lost and found items.

I've heard some people try to sell counterfeit tickets. How can I avoid being taken by counterfeiters?

Don't be one of the few people this year who will get burned by buying a counterfeit ticket. If you buy an Advance Weekend Pass at any of the official outlets, you'll be fine, but single-day perforated tickets and weekend passes sold outside the gate are often counterfeit, so don't take a chance on them. If your ticket is bogus, the festival will not allow you to enter.

How can I find out which downtown streets close (and when) for City Stages?

Check back later for a map of all downtown street closings.

Does City Stages still award scholarships to aspiring musicians?

Yes, each spring we select a limited number of high school seniors who plan to study music in the broadest sense once they attend college. For more information, email Grant Thomas.

The deadline is May 1 2008. Acts chosen will be notified by May 15, 2008.
